Enabling Allegion Mobile Credential for Offline Locks

Overview

Brivo Mobile Pass already has the ability to unlock offline (Allegion Control and XE360) locks using an online request through the Brivo Mobile Pass application. By default, when a user is given access to an Allegion offline lock inside Brivo Mobile Pass, the user’s phone is acting as the network to send an unlock request to Brivo Access. This means that the Brivo Mobile Pass must have internet connectivity to unlock these locks. In areas where internet connectivity is not reliable, customers can opt to add the Allegion Mobile Credential to Brivo Mobile Pass. This uses a payload that is stored on the phone in the event that the user does not have reliable internet connectivity. This addition allows Brivo Mobile Pass to behave similarly to a plastic credential and eliminates the need for internet connectivity.

The Allegion Mobile Credential (AMC) Add-On in an additional subscription to Brivo Mobile Pass. It is not required for all users and the Admin can select which users receive an Allegion mobile Credential as part of Brivo Mobile Pass.

The availability of AMC is controlled through the subscription allotment. Once a subscription is enabled, AMC will automatically be an option when issuing Brivo Mobile Pass to Users.

This article will walk you through adding AMC capabilities to a user.

Enabling AMC

To enable AMC, please contact your Brivo Partnered Reseller (Integrator). They will be able to enable the subscription for you and set the allotment of AMCs. AMCs are available in 20 and 100 monthly subscription packs.

Once this has been enabled, you will see the AMC allotment in the Brivo Access Credentials Page.

Adding AMCs to BMP Users

To issue AMC, follow the normal steps to issue a BMP. Remember to have an email address assigned to the user and to also have the necessary groups assigned to that user.

While issuing the Brivo Mobile Pass, you will have the option to add an Allegion Mobile Credential by simply checking the checkbox as shown below.

Once the user accepts the Brivo Mobile Pass, the Allegion Mobile Credential will automatically be attached. There is nothing additional that the user will need to do.

Revoking Allegion Mobile Credentials

Anytime that you revoke the Brivo Mobile Pass, the Allegion Mobile Credential will also be revoked.

In the event that your user no longer needs to have an Allegion Mobile Credential, but still needs their Brivo Mobile Pass, you can revoke the Allegion Mobile Credential in the Credential Management page for the User. You simply need to select Revoke Allegion and the Allegion Mobile Credential will be removed from the user. The user will still have access to the locks as controlled by the Group assignment, but the BMP function will change back to an online function.

Testing Brivo Mobile Pass with Allegion mobile Credential

The easiest way to test that the offline capabilities of the Allegion Mobile Credential is active for a user is to put the phone into Airplane Mode with Bluetooth still enabled. If the Door or lock is disabled in BMP, then the Allegion Mobile Credential has not successfully been issued to the BMP Application. You will want to check that a valid credential shows under the Mobile Pass Details.
