IMPORTANT NOTE: In 2024, Brivo has moved to a quarterly release cadence. Release notes will appear starting in 2024 in May, August, and November.

August 2024

Emergency Scenarios Languages

Administrators can receive emergency scenario notifications in all supported languages.

Floor Plan Improved Navigation

Administrators can view floor plans from the main navigation or from a global view.

  • Global View - click the pin on the Global View map>Click View Floor Plan
  • Switch Floor Plan view - select different sites within the Floor Plan view to view different Floor Plans
  • Global Navigation - Floor plans displayed in the Global Navigation for Enterprise only users
  • Administrators need site assignment and Floor Plan permission within their Admin role to view/interact with Floor Plans

Bulk Delete, Suspend & Reinstate Users

Access Administrators have the ability to perform bulk actions on credential Users.  Up to 100 Users can be deleted, suspended, or reinstated at once

Brivo Access EU feature expansion

Brivo continues to expand features for EU based customers. Features include the following:

  • 2N - EU based accounts can link 2N devices to their Brivo Access account
  • Brivo Wallet Pass - USERs can use Brivo Wallet Pass in EU 
  • instance accounts
  • Brivo Door Station - EU based accounts can add BDS to their Brivo Access account
  • Brivo Visitor - EU based accounts can enable Brivo Visitor kiosk

NOTE: Although available in the EU instance, some features are not available in all countries (e.g., Brivo Wallet Pass).  Refer to individual feature documentation as necessary.

Elevator Floor Control

Administrators can use Brivo Access to unlock floors that normally require a credential. For example, when a Brivo visitor walks into the building, they will talk to the security guard who will then allow them through to the elevators and remotely grant them access to floor 3.  The visitor will call the elevator using the button on the wall and is not required to swipe a credential to push the floor 3 button.

ADMIN can remotely unlock an elevator floor for guest

  • Guest enters a building and visits the front desk (concierge, security, etc)
  • Front desk personnel grants access to the desired floor from Brivo Access devices dashboard
  • Guest walks up to the elevator bank and presses the button to call the elevator
  • Guest enters the elevator when it arrives and is able to press the desired floor button without having to present a credential

Elevator Floor Control Support

Mercury Multi-Drop

Mercury Multi Drop is now supported in Brivo Access.  Admins can add two readers per node on LP panels and Series 3  boards to support these capabilities on a single door subscription. 

Details

  • Up to four OSDP readers can be addressed per panel (two readers per node)
  • Inbound (INGRESS) or Outbound (EGRESS) readers can be configured
  • Optional third reader functionality for pedestal capabilities
  • Can be used for Anti-Passback

Mercury Multi-Drop Support

Live + Recorded Video UI

Administrators can view live, recorded video, layouts, & video search into one video experience, allowing administrators to view and find footage faster.

  • Live & recorded video in new experience
  • Search video using video search or by using the timeline
  • Select from a list of matrix views
  • View classified video events in timeline

Custom Enterprise Dashboards

Brivo's Unified Security Platform will unify access control, live, recorded video, and event management into one experience. Administrators will have the ability to select from one of three preconfigured dashboards and will have the ability to:

  • Edit, resize, & rearrange widgets
  • Create new dashboards
  • Assign dashboards to specific roles
  • Camera view widget
  • Event tracker widget
  • Global view widget
  • Widget configuration
  • Role-based dashboards
  • Administrators can view video+access events in one interface
  • Administrators can choose from one of the included dashboards
  • Admins can edit the included dashboards or create new dashboards

Emergency Scenarios

Administrators can enable and clear an emergency response across all panels/doors/devices from Brivo Access and the Brivo Access Mobile App

Details

  • On-site personnel can also enable an emergency response across all panels/doors/devices using a hardwired device.  
  • Emergency Scenarios available via API.
  • Admins can create different types of scenarios  for Lockdown & Egress
  • Supports up to 300 doors per scenario
  • Notifications can be muted to Brivo Mobile Pass app and Email
  • Lockdown doors works across Brivo & Mercury panels

Global Switch Editions

Administrators using Brivo Access can set up an input (hardwired device, DPS, etc) and trigger output relays (strobes, sirens, etc) across multiple controllers on a site. This feature allows one control panel input to activate device outputs across control panels for a site or globally, providing efficient and effective management of your global sites.

Floor Plans Usability

Brivo Access Administrators can view and manage devices in the spaces they manage in the Floorplan view.  Admins can view events, view video and critical events all in a single pane.

  • Floorplan view is a 2 dimensional view and displays Alarms/events

Mercury Global Lockdown

Brivo supports Global Lockdown for Mercury Solutions. Global Lockdown allows a customer to trigger lockdown from any programmed panel input for any connected panel on the same account.

  • Global Lockdown can be enabled from Brivo Access and Brivo Mobile Pass App
  • Lockdown supported across multiple panels

Mercury Monitored Devices

Administrators can Monitor Mercury devices and monitor a contact for a door or other opening without the need for a full “Door” configuration

  • Supported Output Behaviors include: Follow, Latch, Unlatch, Pulse
  • Support Output Triggers include:: Device Engage, Device Ajar
  • Scheduling, Reporting and Ajar Threshold are supported

Mercury Allegion Engage Wireless Locks

Many Enterprise level takeovers require the flexibility of a wireless lock solution. Allegion Locks (NDE, LE, AD) being the most requested wireless lock solution is the obvious solution. Mercury natively supports the Allegion RSI communication protocol which allows a simple built in wireless solution for Brivo Mercury Solutions

  • Add Engage Gateways and RSI PIMs to Mercury LP panels
  • Add AD400, NDEB and LEB locks to Mercury panels
  • Monitor Real-time Online lock events and status
  • BUC3 Compatibility

SimonVoss SmartIntego Wireless Online

Brivo has integrated SimonsVoss and the SmartIntego online wireless locksets to work with Brivo Access

  • Added support for SVSI locks that use BUC3 credentials
  • Ability to retrieve events from SVSI Locks and monitor Lock Status

EU Parity (Brivo Access EU feature expansion)

Brivo has expanded features for EU based customers. Features include the following:

  • A  simplified configuration process for OKTA SSO and IC integrations. EU customers will now have a separate gallery application in Okta to complete the integration setup
  • Credential support will include Google and Apple wallet credentials including back office support for 56-bit and BMP.
  • Mobile SDK support 

Improved Login Experience

Administrators using Brivo Access can use a single URL to access multi regional accounts using a single login page. Admins that have access to both regional instances will be able to select the region when logging in. 

Control Locks in Access w/ RealPage & Entrata

RealPage & Entrata have been integrated with Brivo Access to automate resident access provisioning of both common areas and resident units in the multifamily space.

Allegion XE360 brings the ability to incorporate Brivo’s Allegion No-Tour integration to those form factors.

Administrators utilizing Eagle Eye Network cameras in seconds.  Administrators can Quickly connect to an Eagle Eye account, rename cameras, associate doors in seconds, all in Brivo Access. 

Additionally, Analytics Events are available to consume for loitering, tamper, & line crossing events

December 13th, 2023 (v20231213)

- Administrators now have the ability to bulk add credentials with the HID 36-bit format.

- The verify user funtion on the event tracker would display events that were not based on a user action (valid access, etc). Now you will see the last credential user generated event under verify user.

- We have implemented a calendar view for schedules. Now when Administrators either edit a schedule or after creating one they will have the ability to view the schedule blocks in a calendar view or a list view.

- When enabling the Personnel Control feature in Access, Administrators will now receive a confirmation message asking if they are sure they want to enable the feature.

License Plate Credentials

- In partnership with Eagle Eye Networks, Administrators can assign License plate credential to Users under their User profile, which is available in Professional and Enterprise editions and as a subscription for Standard edition.

Monitored Devices

- Administrators can now capture events (Event Tracker & Notifications) for doors and devices that don't have a reader attached, such as emergency exits, windows, environmental sensors, and more.


Schedule Page Updates

-Admins can now view, create and modify door schedules and exceptions to door schedules more easily.

Shared Access

- Base building accounts can share access permissions with tenant Brivo accounts.

Recorded Video

- We improved the experience for Administrators to view recorded video that is event or motion based, to find event based clips easier, and to scrub through clips using a timeline.

May 9th, 2023 (v20230508)

- Fixed an issue where it was unclear if the custom field an admin was trying to edit was unsupported. Messaging has now been added to give an admin more insight into what is wrong.

- Some Admins did not have a smooth experience when filtering the Event Tracker, this has been improved.

- Fixed an issue where rotated badge template elements could not be edited.


April 13th, 2023 (v20230412)

- Access Commands - credential Users can trigger I/O devices with a credential swipe. Triggering actions include: single swipe, double swipe, and limiting User interaction with group permissions. This feature is available in Professional and Enterprise editions.

- We designed a new and improved Custom Fields page in Brivo Access.

- You can now drag and drop to reorder fields on the list page.

- You can choose from a list of supported date fields.

- Administrators can now expire credentials that have not been used in a certain number of days. An administrator has the ability to set an expiration day limit for unused credentials across the entire account from 5 to 365 days.

We added new Data set name Occupancy & Usage to Data Explorer which includes:

-Occupancy metric for counting unique users present on any given site during a day.

-Volume metric for viewing the number of valid access events within a given time period.

-Custom fields.

-First & last events by day.

-Normal hours indicator for filtering inside/outside working hours.

-User and Activity Reports can now be run from within Brivo Access

-Failed Access events when known credentials are used, the credential ID will now display in the event details drawer on the Event Tracker.  Example events include - failed access unauthorized door, failed access unassigned card, etc.

-64-bit format credentials can now be added in bulk.

-Application Management iframe no longer freeze when HE stream limit on Eagle Eye Settings is updated.

-Unknown Cards "Page Blocked" error no longer displays after adding or assigning an unknown card.

-Report Configuration "Page Blocked" error no longer displays when adding users to groups to the User Activity Report.

- When an admin revokes a card, the page list pages should reload as unassigned not requiring the user to refresh the page to see the card has been unassigned.
