Add Cards

What is a Card?

A card, also called a fob or credential, is a credential held by a user, such as a proximity card, magnetic stripe card, smart card, or digital credential. Physical cards usually have a number printed on its surface, such as “789” or “00789.”

A user presents their card to a card reader — or “swipes” it — to enter a door. The card reader reads the card and sends the data to a control panel, which processes the request.

Traditionally, the card reader reacts when a valid card is presented and unlocks the door. If the card is rejected, the door remains locked.

  1. Log into your Brivo Access account and select Credentials on the left navigation bar.

The information in these fields should have been provided along with the credentials.
