Using your Multi-factor Authentication Recovery Code

Alicia Allen Updated by Alicia Allen

Overview

When an administrator loses or upgrades their phone, they can use their Multi-factor Authentication Recovery Code to access their Brivo account.

Prerequisites

To use Multi-factor Authentication, you must be an administrator on a Brivo Access account that has Multi-factor Authentication enabled. You must also have an OTP (One Time Password) app downloaded on your mobile device.

Steps to use your Multi-factor Authentication Recovery Code

  1. Log in to Brivo Access with your email address and password.
  1. You will be asked to enter a 6 digit passcode from an OTP (One Time Password) application. If you do not have your device, click on "Lost your device? Use recovery code".
  1. Enter the recovery code that you saved during the device registration process and click "Log In".
  1. You will now be presented with a new recovery code that you will need to save in a safe place in case your device is lost or stolen. Once you've saved the new code, click "I have safely recorded this code" and then "Continue".
